March Favourites

I have not yet done one of these posts before, but today I would like to share with you the products that I have been loving throughout the month of March. I hope you enjoy.

'Fleur Loves' Eyelashes by Eylure

The Ardell Demi Wispies lashes are usually my favourites, but this month I decided to try out some more natural looking lashes to wear with a more everyday makeup look. I decided to pick up these lashes in Boots and I'm so impressed. They look so pretty and make a slight subtle difference to your eye look. I especially like that they're longer at the outer corner of your eye, so they give the effect of your eyes being wider and more open. For only £5.25 they are such a bargain, I would recommend that you try them out if you get a chance.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector
(Pressed) - 'Moonstone'

I had been unsure about which shade highlighter to pick up from BECCA because there has been so much hype around a load of different shades. In the end I decided on 'Moonstone'. It is such a shimmery highlight that looks beautiful when it catches the light. I think it's the perfect shade for my skin tone, because it's not too cool or too warm. I'm so glad I picked this up, it's my favourite highlighter as of yet, even better than MAC's soft and gentle in my opinion.

I have been loving this lip pencil throughout March to wear under lipsticks. I find that it is so easy to use to outline my lips and it lasts all day long. I've been pairing it with a soft matte lip cream from NYX in the shade 'Abu Dhabi'. Together they work beautifully to to create a dark nude lip. The only downside to the NYX product is that it does feel quite drying on the lips and after a while it starts to look a bit cracked so I need to touch it up.

I recently purchased this mascara out of the blue, not having heard any reviews on it at all. It simply attracted me because it had a brush similar to Too Faced's 'Better than Sex' Mascara and I love that one. Anyway, this mascara has made its way into my favourites because it is amazing! I can see why it's called an extreme lash mascara because it literally makes my lashes huge! The formula is super black and the brush makes it so easy to grab each lash and give the perfect amount of length but also an insane amount of volume. You have to try this out if you get the chance - its so good!

Since we're coming into the warmer months of the year, my skin is doing its usual thing where it changes to being oily rather than dry. To help me manage these oils in my skin I have been using this product as a base for my foundation. I apply it to my skin before I use my primer and it helps to keep my skin that extra bit matte which is exactly what I want. I have definitely seen the difference in my skin compared to when I don't use this so it's become an everyday essential for me now. If you have dry skin I would steer away from this, but if you have oilier skin I'm pretty sure you would like this!

I was browsing the beauty section on ASOS and came across this limited edition lipstick from Nars. It's such a pretty nude colour and it has a semi-matte finish on the lips. It feels very smooth on the lips and it lasts for quite a while without needing to be touched up. So, if you like the colour you should pick one up as soon as possible because they won't be around for too long!

This has been my go-to blush throughout March. It's such a pretty pink shade which is so wearable for everyday and it goes really well when paired with a gold eyeshadow look. Nars blushes are so pigmented but they are also really easy to blend out if you accidentally apply too much product!

The Nars Laguna Bronzer has been my favourite bronzer for years and I always end up switching back to it every now and again. It's so pigmented, easy to blend and is the perfect bronzy colour for my skin. However, I have recently purchased the limited edition version of this bronzer which comes in a a bigger size. It contains more product and a miniture 'Ita Kabuki' Brush which retails for £43 if you get the normal size. This brush makes it so much easier to contour with and it really makes it easier to blend out the product. Overall, I love both the bronzer and the brush that comes with it - definitely worth the money in my opinion!

OPI - Krème De La Kremlin and

Throughout March my favourite nail varnish colours have been the OPI 'Krème de la kremlin' with Essie's 'Summit of Style' on top of one of my nails. This is such a wearable shade that goes really well with so many of my outfits and I find that it's a good transition shade from Autumn to Spring. I also got acrylic nails this month and used this same combination because I love it so much.

Anyways, that all the beauty products I've been loving this month. Let me know if you love any of these products too and also what your favourites have been this month! See you Sunday!

Makeup Look: Gold Eye and Nude Lip

If you follow me on Instagram - @littlebeautywonderland - you will have seen that I posted a photo the other day of my go-to makeup look. Today I have got a breakdown of what products I used to create that look and the steps you can follow if you would like to do something similar. Hope you enjoy!

Base
  1. I used Benefit's POREfessional Primer as my base for foundation. I find that this  really helps to reduce the appearance of my pores.
  2. I then used Benefit's Erase Paste Concealer in the shade '01 - fair'. I applied this under my eyes to conceal any darkness or discolouration.
  3. With my damp beauty blender, I applied the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in the shade 'Mont Blanc'.
  4. I then used my Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in the shade 'Fair Neutral' to highlight. I used this under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, on my chin and in an V-shaped triangle on my forehead.
  5. To set my foundation and concealer, I used the MAC Studio Fix Powder in the shade 'NC15'.
  6. I then used my NARS Laguna Bronzer to sculpt out my cheekbones and slightly warm up my face.
  7. On top of this I used my Too Faced Blush in the shade 'Baby Love' and applied this to the apples of my cheeks to give my skin a slight flush of colour.
  8. To finish, I used my BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfecter (Pressed) in the shade 'Moonstone'. I applied this lightly to the tops of my cheekbones, cupids bow and slightly under my brow bone to give a subtle highlight.
Eyebrows
  1. To outline my eyebrows I used the Anastasia DipBrow Pomade in the shade 'Taupe'. This product allows me to clearly define my brows and it lasts all day long. I also use this product on the tail of my brow to fill it in.
  2. I then filled the rest of my brows in with theBalm's Brow Pow eyebrow powder in the shade 'Blonde'.
  3. To set my brows into place I used Benefit's Speed Brow Gel.

Eyes
  1. To prime my eyes I used the MAC Pro Longer Paint Pot in the shade 'Painterly'. This conceals any discolouration or blue veins on my eyelids and leaves a nice base to work with.
  2. For eyeshadow, I used a combination of shadows from the Urban Decay Naked Palette and the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette.
  3. Firstly, I took the shade 'Thirteen' from the Naked Smoky palette and used the zoeva 227 - luxe soft definer brush to sweep this all over my lid and up onto my brow bone.
  4. I then look the shades 'Naked' and 'Buck' from the original Naked palette on a zoeva 228 - luxe crease brush and ran them through the crease of my eye.
  5. I then mixed the shade 'Dirtysweet' from the Naked Smoky palette with the shade 'Half Baked' from the original Naked palette and applied it all over my lid with the Real Techniques 'shading brush'.
  6. To finish my eyeshadow I took the shade 'Whiskey' from the Naked Smoky palette on a zoeva 230 - luxe pencil brush and ran it underneath my lower lash line.
  7. I then used the L'Oreal Superliner to create a sharp cat eye winged liner.
  8. Before applying mascara I lightly curled my eyelashes with the Shu Uemura eyelash curler.
  9. After that, I used a little bit of the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara on my top lashes.
  10. I then applied the Ardell Demi Wispies lashes and applied some mascara to my bottom lashes.
Lips
  1. I outlined my lips using the MAC Lip Pencil in the shade 'Whirl'.
  2. On top of this, I applied the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade 'Abu Dhabi'.

I hope this post wasn't too long winded! See you Wednesday!

Review: Nars - Radiant Creamy Concealer - RRP £22

When it comes to concealer it is hard to know where to start. I know when I first started getting into makeup, I had no idea what all the different coloured concealers were for and it all seemed a bit overwhelming. However, over time I've been able to try out a whole load of different concealers and this one is my all time favourite and I would like to tell you why.

Full Coverage

First of all the coverage of this concealer is insane! I have quite red skin, so sometimes once I've applied my foundation, the redness on my cheeks still shows through (which I personally don't like). However, when I apply this concealer it is so full coverage that it covers up any redness at all leaving my skin looking flawless. It's also really good at covering up spots or blemishes. I'm quite lucky in that I don't tend to suffer with problematic skin, but whenever I do get a spot or two, I can always rely on this to cover it up.

Easy to Blend

Another aspect of this concealer that I like is that it's really easy to blend. I like to use my beauty blender to blend the concealer into my skin. I find it so easy to blend into my skin and it leaves such a natural finish.

Long Lasting

The lasting power of this concealer is another aspect that I love. I apply this at the beginning of the day and  set it with powder and when I look in the mirror at lunch/the end of the day my concealer is still in place. If I have to be out all day or want my makeup to look flawless all day long, this is 100% the concealer I would reach for.

Packaging

Another thing I like about this product is the packaging. I know it may seem trivial, but i'm a sucker for NARS packaging. The minimalistic design of their products with the logo printed in block capitals is just so appealing to me and I love it.

Limitations

The only downside to this product in my opinion is the price. At £22 it isn't cheap, but the product itself is so amazing I don't mind spending the extra money. After all, you most certainly get what you pay for! If you get a chance I would whole heartedly recommend you try this concealer, it's perfection.

My Handbag Essentials

When I was younger my Mum was the person who always had everything you could possibly need in her handbag and this was so useful in the case of emergencies. So, its not surprising that i'm the same when it comes to what I like to carry in my bag. I like to know that whatever the situation i'm in, I will always have what I need on me, be that an umbrella incase it starts to rain or even just a hair band if I want to tie my hair back throughout the day. Anyways, I hope this gives you some ideas of what you might like to keep in your bags.

1. Purse

2. Phone

3. Mirror

4. Perfume

5. Pen
This is great to have on you just incase you need to write something down or sign a document when you're out.

6. Hand Cream and Hand Gel
Hand Sanitiser is a life saver if you need to use public toilets because they often don't have any soap.

7. Portable Phone Charger
There's nothing more frustrating than when you're out all day long and your phone runs out of charge. My portable phone charger has come in handy so many times and I use it almost everyday!

8. Umbrella
When you live in England you never know what the weather is going to be like, so I always like to carry an umbrella with me just incase it decides to rain.

9. Makeup Bag
I only like to take a few products with me that I may need to use throughout the day to touch up my makeup.

These are the makeup items that I've been carrying around with me lately:

Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara - £19

Too Faced - Blush in the shade 'Baby Love' - £25

Nars - Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'Vanilla' -£22

Mac - Studio Fix Powder in the shade 'NC15' - £22

Clinique - Lipstick in the shade 'Nude Pop' - £16

Real Techniques - Mini Face Brush - £9.99

Ted Baker - Makeup Bag - £39

10. Tissues

11. Keys

12. Manicure/Nail Kit
The amount of times that I or one of my friends has broken a nail and is in need of a nail file is ridiculous. So it's always handy to have a nail kit on me just incase this happens.

13. Mini First Aid Kit
You never know what's could happen in the day, so I always like to have my mini first aid kit on me just incase I have a minor cut that I want to keep clean. My little kit contains plasters, antiseptic wipes, tape, scissors, a bandage and a few different types of dressings.

14. Mini Sewing Kit
When you're out in public and you get a hole in your clothing it can be very embarrassing, so I always like to be prepared by having a mini sewing kit on me just incase. (It's actually been a lifesaver on a couple of occasions..)

15. Hair Bands and Hair Slides
If you have longer hair you will understand how frustrating it can be when all you want to do is get your hair out of your face but you don't have a hairband. I too have experienced this, so now I just keep a couple of hairbands and hair slides in my bag incase I want to tie my hair back.

16. Chewing Gum and Mints
These always are useful for after lunch or if you just want to freshen your breath throughout the day. I like to take a couple packets just incase I want to offer them around.

17. Sanitary Products
I'm sure most girls will have experienced a time when they're not expecting their period, but they come on early - this is a nightmare if you don't have anything on you. To prevent this, I like to keep some stuff with me just incase I or anyone else needs it!

I hope you found this post interesting and it gave you some ideas of what to put in your handbag. If you have any suggestions of what else I could carry with me, please leave them in the comments or get in touch with me either by Instagram or by e-mail.

My Top 5 Under £10 Makeup Products

Makeup from the drugstore is often very underrated, when in actual fact, a lot of the products are actually really good. Today I would like to let you know what my 5 favourite products are from the drugstore and why I love them. Hopefully this encourages you to try out something I've mentioned, because not only are they really good, but the best part is they're all £7.99 or less!

Mascara is one of those makeup products that one person could love and another could hate, it really just depends on how you like your lashes to look. Personally, I like my eyelashes to be as long as possible with almost every single eyelash defined so that they don't end up looking clumpy. This mascara does exactly that. Out of all the mascaras I've tried, this formula is my favourite. I find it really works well for my lashes and makes me look like I've had eyelash extensions. Its also super easy to apply because the wand is curved, allowing it to hug your eyelashes and help them keep a curl.

This eyeliner is my all time favourite liquid liner. The colour of the actual product is super black and stays black throughout the day, unlike some liners that fade to a greyish colour. The felt tip of the pen is also very flexible and easy to work with to be able to create a perfect cat eye flick. It's very slim which allows you to be precise and create a sharp line, which is exactly what I like. Overall, I would whole heartedly recommend trying out this eyeliner, it's great.

When you're in a rush in the morning the last thing you have time to do is spend ages blending out your eyeshadow, so this product is ideal. A pretty colour on your eyelids can make you look so much more put together and it doesn't have to take a long time either. I like to use the Colour Tattoo in the shade 'On and On Bronze'. This is a really pretty shimmery bronze/gold shade that looks especially good if you have blue eyes. I like to apply it to my eyelids with my ring finger and then just blend the edges out slightly with a fluffy brush to prevent and harsh lines. It's so quick and easy to apply and it really makes you look like you've made much more of an effort. Even better, it's waterproof so there's a pretty good chance it will stay on your eyelids all day.

I'm sure you will have heard of this powder. It's one of the most raved about powders in the blogging and youtube world, so I won't say too much. Basically, this powder is great at keeping you matte all day long, it doesn't make you look overly powdered and it leaves a natural look on the skin. With such a low price tag it's surprising that it's so good. I would most certainly encourage you to give this a go if you haven't yet tried it.

Whenever I'm doing a night out makeup look and i'm not sure what eyelashes to wear, I can always rely on my Ardell Demi Wispies. These lashes are so pretty and fluttery and they can be worn with almost any make look. You can use them for a night time look if you're wearing a smoky eye with winged liner or you could wear them as part of your everyday makeup to make your eyelashes look extra long and fluttery. Overall, they look good with almost any makeup style, so you can't really go wrong with them.

Let me know if you've tried out any of these products and what you think of them. I would also appreciate it if you would let me know what some of your favourite products from the drugstore are, after we all love a good bargain!

Disappointing High End Makeup Products

I don't know about you, but I find these kind out posts very useful when it comes to deciding on what products to invest in. I'm not in any way trying to slate any brands, as these brands actually have some of my favourite makeup products in. However, these products didn't live up to my expectations and i'm just here to let you know why, so that you can see whether or not you want to invest. Hope this helps!

This eyeliner is marketed to be a product which makes it super easy to get a sharp cat eye flick and for the price you pay, you expect that to be the case right? Well, I didn't find this to be the case at all. Although the gel eyeliner itself is very black and long lasting it is incredibly hard to remove if you make a mistake. I also found the product very hard to get out of the tube because it doesn't come out easily. In order to get the gel eyeliner out, the product has to be twisted up. Yet, whenever I used it, I either didn't get enough product out or too much came out and it was impossible to work with. I also found the tip of the eyeliner to be more of a gimmick. It didn't allow me to create a sharp defined cat eye look, but it came out all clumpy and thick - not how I like my eyeliner to look. This eyeliner doesn't even compare to the L'Oreal Superliner. This is much easier to work with, is also very black and it so much easier to remove if you make a mistake. Plus it's only £6.99, so it's so much cheaper!

Since I love the heavy duty boi-ing concealer and the erase paste concealer, which are both from benefit, my expectations for the fakeup concealer were quite high. This concealer is marketed to be very hydrating and to be used to conceal dark circles, yet I didn't find it to cover up my undereye circles at all. When I applied the concealer it was very moisturising, yet it acted at more of a moisturiser than a concealer. I didn't notice it to have made any difference to covering up and darkness and I don't have very bad under-eye circles anyway, so I expected it to make some difference. Overall, this product didn't work for me at all, as considering the price of it, it is most definitely a disappointing product. I would recommend you try one of the other concealers from benefit if you want to invest!

I wasn't too sure if i was going to like this product when I bought it, but after watching one of Fleur's videos where she was raving about this product, I decided to give it a go. When I used it myself though, I didn't like it at all. The colour comes out a very light brown colour and I didn't find it easy to contour with at all. I found it quite hard to blend because every time I blended it, it seemed to disappear because it wasn't very pigmented. For £22 I would have expected more.

When I first saw this palette online, the colours looked so pretty that I told myself I had to have it, which resulted in me making the quick decision to impulse buy it. However, when it arrived the colours looked so different in real life compared to how they looked online. For instance, the colour 'Snobby' is a really yellow eyeshadow in person, but online it looked like a shimmery gold shade. Although, I don't like the colours that are in the palette, the actual quality of the eyeshadows are pretty good. They are very easy to blend and they are pretty pigmented, especially when you use a spritz of mac fix+ to intensify the colour. Overall, I wouldn't recommend you try this product, in my opinion the Urban Decay or Too Faced eyeshadows are much better and are a similar price!

I don't mean to be overly negative, I just don't want any of you to purchase these products without knowing that they may not be as good a what you expect. That way, you may choose to spend your money elsewhere on a better product!

New Years Resolutions : March Update

At the beginning of 2016 I set myself 4 main New Years Resolutions and they were as follows:
  1. Care less about what other people think of me
  2. Step out of my comfort zone more
  3. Learn to love myself
  4. Do more for others
As many of you will know, new years resolutions can be incredibly hard to stick to and most people give up on them after about a month or so. I really don't want to give up on mine, so I've decided that every 2/3 months I'm going to post an update on how I am progressing so I can see what's changed. Hopefully this will act as some motivation for you too.

1. Care less about what other people think of me
Some of you reading this may be very confident and not have any self esteem issues at all, in which case I envy you very much, but unfortunately that's not the case for me. In the past few years i have developed anxiety surrounding poor body image and low self esteem and it has stopped me from doing so many things. So, this year I've decided that I no longer want to let it stop me from doing what I want to do and I want to care less about what others think of me. At some point I will blog about my experience with anxiety and how it has affected me, but for now I won't go into too much detail. However, I do feel that I am gradually achieving this goal.

2. Step out of my comfort zone more
As previously mentioned, my anxiety has stopped me from doing many things in my life and in this past year I've decided that I don't want that to be the case any more. I've been making big changes in my life to help me become more confident do things that would normally scare me and I want to continue that this year.

3. Learn to love myself
This is a very personal goal and again relates back to my anxiety. It's also very similar to my first resolution and by the end of 2016 I would like to be much more confident and happy within myself.

4. Do more for others
This goal is one of my favourites but I am finding it very hard to achieve. I would consider myself to be the kind of person that is always there for my friends no matter what they need, but I wanted to do more for others in a different kind of way. Whenever I see someone homeless on the street I always want to do something, like buy them a meal or give them a drink but I am always too nervous. I'm going to try so hard to do this the next time I see someone in this situation, so I have to build up the courage to do so!

Anyway that is all for now, please let me know if you have any suggestions about anything.

What's in my travel makeup bag?

Whenever I go on a trip, I always struggle when choosing what to take with me. I'm one of those people that tends to overpack and bring a load of makeup/clothes/shoes that I won't actually use. So, on my last trip away I decided to try and keep the amount of makeup that I brought with me to a minimum. You may still think I've overpacked, but compared to how much I usually take with me, this is a lot less.

1. Face Primer - Recently I've been trying out Benefit's new POREfessional Matte Rescue. This is a gel that you apply onto your skin that gives your face a smooth and matte base. On top of this, I apply Benefit's POREfessional primer to my skin to reduce the appearance of any pores. I tend to focus this mainly around my cheeks and my nose, as that is where my pores are largest.

2. Foundation - On an everyday basis will use my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, but I was running low so I decided to take my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation with me instead. I am currently the shade 51 - Light Vanilla. I love the natural dewy finish that this foundation has, because it leaves my skin looking really glowy and healthy.

3. Concealer - To cover up any blemishes or spots I like to use the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I am currently the shade Light 2 - Vanilla. This concealer is very full coverage and I can always rely on it to cover any redness or spots that I have. If I haven't had much sleep the night before, and need something to combat my under eye circles than I will use Benefit's Erase Paste. This is a salmon-toned concealer which helps to hide any blue/purple tones. I use this in the shade No. 1 - Fair.

4. Eyebrows - To outline my brows and define an arch, I use the Anastasia DipBrow Pomade in the shade Blonde. This product stays on my brows all day and is my perfect shade. Then I use theBalm Brow Pow Eyebrow Powder in the shade Blonde to fill in any sparse areas. To set my eyebrows, I use Benefit's Speed BROW to keep them in place.

5. Bronzer, Blush and Highlighter - In order to prevent myself from bringing 3 different products, I decided to take one palette with me that contains a bronzer, blusher and highlighter. The NARS Virtual Domination Palette was a limited edition palette that came out towards the end of 2014. I used the NARS Laguna Bronzer the NARS Deep Throat Blush and the NARS Miss Liberty Highlighter.

6. Eyeshadow - For eyeshadow, I decided to take a small palette that has very wearable everyday colours. The Too Faced Natural Eyes palette was perfect for this because it doesn't take up too much space in my makeup bag and it gives me a variety of eyeshadow looks to choose from.

7. Eyeshadow base - The MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the shade Painterly is the perfect eyeshadow base for my skin tone. It can be used alone to hide any veins or pigmentation on your eyelids but it also helps to keep your eyeshadow in place.

8. Eyeliner - My favourite eyeliner at the moment is the L'Oreal Perfect Slim eyeliner in the shade Intense Black. The felt tip is very thin which makes it much easier to create that precise cat eye flick.

9. Mascara Primer - Recently I've been using Benefit's They're Real tinted eyelash primer and it has made such a difference to my lashes! It helps to keep my lashes defined and gives my lashes much more volume.

10. Mascara - The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara is one of my current favourites. The shape of the wand makes it so easy to grab your lashes and keep them curled. For only £7.99 it's such a steal!

11. Powder - To set my foundation and concealer, I use the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder. I use either shade 51 or shade 52. I find this powder to be very fine and appear more natural on the skin.

12. Setting Spray - To finish off my makeup I use the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. This keeps my makeup in place throughout the whole day and I can always rely on it.
